Hi.
Just done a fresh install of 2.1. However the navbar is not showing even when i have created a catagory and placed it under default catagory.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Thanks, Paul
@Seouli have you set "Include in Navigation Menu" as Yes. Don't forgot to clear cache!
Hi GMehta,
Thanks for quick response, Cache has been cleared and i have checked for include and all are set to yes.
I have not changed anything too this is clean install so its strange why its not showing.
Although i have not added any products yet, but that shouldn't make any difference should it?
Paul
@Seouli strange! Appearing that you did all correct. Try to access directly on frontend by using URL key, if you can see category it means issue is in top navigation layout.
Good luck
I have exactly the same thing, brand new install last night and I even disabled Varnish just in case. Have no idea what happen.
Yes me too,
The only advice i can give you is that when i re-installed Magento again the nav-bar worked fine. Other than that im not really sure why it did this.
:-) Good luck
Hi. I've got the same problem. There's no navbar even though it's enabled in the admin and the cache has been flushed. I've spent days configuring the site and don't want to reinstall it. There must be a quick fix since this is probably a new bug in 2.1?
Thanks.
Gary
I think this is related to Varnish/SSL, you can double check my using https instead of http (if it is Varnish related it will work on http but not https). I am not a backend developer so I'm not sure on the full details but Tony Brown has covered this at Mage Titans Italy.
The video can be found here - To find the fix fast forward to 20:24. To summarise Varnish is not pulling in the ESI.
Thanks Ben. That's an interesting video to watch.
I couldn't fix the problem myself so I paid someone on peopleperhour.com to fix it for me. Ideally Magento should be fully manageable via the admin UI rather than having to fiddle with files, SSH and learn tricks to do basic stuff. Still, I'm using the community edition so I shouldn't complain. Very grateful for the software and support from the community. Thank you.
It would have been wonderful if the developer you hired shared what steps did he do in order to fix the issue, or what caused it.
Thanks for sharing in advance.
