PWA Confusion
Hi,
Can someone please clear up my confusion.
I have read about PWA and i believe it is coming, or is here on Magento 2.3 CE.
- How as a business owner would i apply PWA?
- Is PWA studio an external platform or is it built into 2.3 CE?
- Does it run as a seperate extension like other add-ons?
- What template does it use or is it adaptable?
Any help welcome as we want to use it but cannot find much info as to how we would install/ use it. All info seems to be about PWA rather than clear non techy intergration.
thank you

Re: PWA Confusion
Experts, please correct me if I'm wrong.
- How as a business owner would i apply PWA?
You will need to basically rebuild your entire website. PWA is not something you can apply by changing a few settings.
- Is PWA studio an external platform or is it built into 2.3 CE?
It's an external platform that M2.3+ is compatible with.
- Does it run as a seperate extension like other add-ons?
It's not an extension within Magento. It's an application that lives outside Magento. PWA is using headless Magento install to get data from and put data to.
- What template does it use or is it adaptable?
It's not using templates, it's using storefronts. One of them is Venia.
Basically PWA is a storefront that sits on top of a headless Magento install. PWA is using Reactjs to build frontend interfaces.

Re: PWA Confusion
I do not understand what is meant by headless magento install. I want to run both a normal website for magento and pwa for mobile clients, it that possible and how or is it one or the other now?

Re: PWA Confusion
You can install PWA as a regular Magento extension using SimiCart. It's very simple.
You can have your desktop site running as normal while serving PWA to mobile users, like this one: https://kniveksperten.no/
