Using bootstrap and carousel

Hello,

I'm trying to add a carousel by using the class="carousel slide" in a phtml that I've created but it's not displaying correctly at all or working. Is there a special way of adding bootstrap divs to magento?

Thank you but I'm not trying to add the owl slider though. I'm trying to use bootstrap's class carousel to create the carousel and similarly use other bootstrap classes.

Is there a special way of doing this?
