Stock left for configurable products?

We are using the stock left threshold option to show the qty of each item available.

This works great for standard products but for configurable products nothing is shown even after the colour / size is selected?

Any help would be appreciated to solve this.

You could try this extension https://marketplace.magento.com/amasty-stockstatus.html

It will let to show stock quantity for each associated product which is part of a configurable one.
