how to reindex in Mage2 admin panel

Hello Do you mean you want to do the reindexing from backend ? There are lot of extensions are available for the same.

@luke_mersh There is no default option in magento 2  for re-indexing.

Instead you can use the below command for re-indexing.

php bin/magento indexer:reindex

I dont think you understand..

I am unsure how to install properly extensions, I thought there might have been a fuction already built in that i could use.

installing extension is difficult for me as I am working remotely and using the default Luma theme, as I am still learning about creating new custom themes.
