magentoo 2.5 theme changes doesn't apply

Hello i'm new to the magento just trying to customize things, i'm following a lynda tutorial for magento 2 themes, i created directory and set the new new theme so things seems to works.
so a first customisation was to remove the footer's report bugs "help us to keep magento healthier report bugs"., in the default.xml i set  <p><referenceBlock name="report.bugs" remove="true"/></p>

but in  browser nothing changes.

Hi @christou2c,
If your're having issues in your theme you need to add your default.xml file in your theme and if you're issues in your magento by default you aadd that appropriate file in magento so you could be sure with where the issues exist either in theme or magento by default.
