Adding Product Attribute Values

We have several product attributes that can have several thousand values.

Typing these in by hand is obviously out of the question.

I'm looking for a way to do this by extension or programmatically.

I can't get a response from MageWala about their Synamen Import Attribute Values and am looking for alternatives - my own module or another that his modestly priced - we can afford $60, but not for example, a several hundred dollar import everything type of module.

Having our own module to do this would be great so I can modify it as necessary over time.

Any help on this?
