Best Sellers

How in Magento 2 can I get the Best Seller section on my website to display the best sellers based on the current month of sales?

It worked in Magento 1, but we can't seem to make it work for Magento 2 as it will only display best sellers for the life of the site, which means that users are not seeing current trend / best sellers.  

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
