Can I have a required field based on a condition?

Can I have a required field based on a condition?

I created a new EAV attribute for customer called "existing customer". it's a yes/no question.

I have an option that comes up if the person clicks on 'no' called "what are you interested in?", with a text input.

It's also a required field.

Is there any way to make the "what are you interested in?" field not required if the customer answers yes to the previous customer question?

Thanks
