Basically I followed the link's accepted solution

and created mentioned files with mentioned contents.
However I still see the prices and could not understand how to debug what went wrong.
Should I run any command after words? Tried di:compile, but i think it is not necessary while the developer mode is on which magento dynamically handles.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
