How can I Update Products, Inventory and Sales Orders etc using API

Hallo,

 

We have moved our shop to Magento 2. We have an in-house PHP based ERP system. The idea is to populate all our shop with all the customers and their previous orders history as well as when new order is placed in shop, our ERP also get updated. Since, ERP is very old and doesn't have any APIs, I have decided to convert MySQL data to JSON format and then store in ERPs database. Has anyone already done this? Or can someone give me better suggestion?
