Product categories mega menu

Hello guys, I would like to ask a question, what would be the best/wise way to create categories and brands for displaying the categories and brands like this:

So I have a simple navigation which holds the categories: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3.

If I press on Category 1 or 2 or 3, the mega menu drops down with the children categories on the left and Brands on the right.

As I understand these brands has to be parent category related, how I suppose to do like this? Can anyone give me an idea and push me to the right track 🙂

Here i would suggest you to use Mega Menu extension , where you can able to set brands and the functionality you would like to achieve , basically here you required to set custom links for brands and categories structure will be a parent child - to showcase in the listing !

What do You mean brands as custom links? Can You argument it? How are product brands created regularly? And how You assign them to products if they're custom links? Creating big Magento site is quite new for me so I want to know more how other people solve this.
