2.2.2 Hanging on install when using firefox

I have found the reliability of the Magento install fluctuates, especially with the later installs - 1.9,2.0, 2.1 and 2.2. And they get progressively worse (the last try (try #4) hung at 73%)

The only thing I can put it down to, is one of two things.

Firefox or Plesk, however as i am uploading the version above 2.1 (which Plesk supplies as an application) I am extracting the files, then installing them.

I am using Mysql 5.4 and PHP 7.2.0

any thoughts anyone?

There's an official help page article about a similar issue: http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.0/install-gde/trouble/php/tshoot_70pct.html. If you run through the suggestions there, do you get better results?
