2.2.2 -Multiple order confirm emails

Hello,

I’m running magento CE 2.2.2 recently upgraded last week from 2.1.6, with only ebizmarts sagepay form integration for payment. Payments are successfully redirected after completion from sagepays site to ours.
One email gets sent from sagepay for the payment and another from our site to confirm the order.

I’m getting scenarios where customers are being sent up to 6 order confirmation emails for one transaction.

One customer had 6 then one hour after purchase got sent it twice more.

How do I resolve?

Can you check with another payment method just to try to identify if the problem is on Magento, the payment method or the gateway?

We've got some issues on paypal so aren't using that and sagepay form is our only gateway.

I have opened a ticket with ebizmarts yes.

Someone has been in touch with me in the ticket to suggest that we use the DIRECT and not the form as it is deprecated.
