Category sort order incorrect

We have an issue with one site when it has been deployed to the live server.

The category sort order is displaying in a random order rather than by position. It works perfectly on the site server with exactly the same database but not on the live server.

Has anybody else experienced this? We are using 2.3.4

may be you are using elastic search on live and local mysql

No, it looks like a rogue module was changing the sort parameters. With this disabled the problem is resolved.
