Hello,
v. 2.2.1, Open Source
I have Stores => Configuration => Sales => Checkout => Checkout Options => Allow Guest Checkout
Set to 'Yes' In *all* store view modes.
However, clicking on 'GO TO CHECKOUT' anywhere on the site opens up a popup that says:
'
Creating an account has many benefits:
On one side and
'Checkout using your account.. .blah blah.. sign in'
on the other.
I don't want the user to have to create an account.. anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
Donovan
Hi @dbrooke1007,
I'm not being able to reproduce the error.
2 questions:
Thanks Damian, I'm running a 'child theme' of Porto.
Porto does have an update, and so does Magento. I have yet to do any updates, and being that we were just about ready to go live, I'm a little nervous about it.. however, I have done both database and files backup.. so am going to proceed.
So far, I can't find any exact instructions on how to update a custom theme unfortunately.
The instructions I found for updating Magento are here:
http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.2/comp-mgr/bk-compman-upgrade-guide.html
Any other pointers are appreciated.

Hi @dbrooke1007,
Maybe before upgrade anything you can try chenging to Luma (the default heme) and try again to be sure if the problem is your current theme.
Wierdest Thing.. switching to Luma worked.. Switching back to the Porto Child theme... worked.
So, I guess problem solved!? :-/
I guess it could be, though I regularly flush static files and cache. Thx for the help.
Alright, this is still an issue and I figured out it only happens when I have downloadable products in the cart. Specifically, it happens when I add a 'Link' in 'Downloadable Information':
CATALOG => Products => edit => Select Store View => Downloadable Information =>
select: 'is this downloadable product?'
add link.
