Hi Team, how do I change the database table magento accesses to filter products using price folder?

Hi team, we need the price slider of our website to filter products on basis of a different column then the default one. Please let us know which core files need to be changed.

Can you be more specific on your question? Are you trying to change a filter used in Layered Navigation?

Yes, my query is regarding the price slider filter which extends Mage/Catalog/Block/Layer/Filter/Price.file , but we need this filter to pick prices from a different column and I cant find the core file to make this change. Please assist
