How to have multiple SKU share same inventory? Auto Parts

Certain products viz, brakepads, air filters etc in our inventory can be used on multiple vehicles.


product name/code listing isn't customer friendly.

How do we create new listings for diff vehicles all somehow connected to one MASTER SKU for inventory keeping purposes so that selling out one item automatically sells out other connected items too. 

Is this feasible without using any specialised special third party YMM module?

By setting up a master product and linking it to other related products, inventory management becomes streamlined. When the stock level for any linked product is reduced, it will correspondingly reduce the stock for the master product and all associated items. Hope this helps thanks
