When searching with hyphens "-" in the search query, the results are generated by replacing the hyphens with space.

For example:

If we search with the following search query: 247-858-968 which is a part number or a number user to identify products.This part number can be assigned for multiple products.

The products that are listed are products that have 968 or 858 or 247 as part of the number.

Whereas the expected result is the product that have the part number 247-858-968.

The products that have part number like 123-247-858-968 or 247-858-968-123 can also get listed.

I think magento 2 is replacing the hyphens with spaces and we do not want it to do this.

Kindly let me know how to achieve this result.

I am having the same issues using Magento 2.3. I cannot search items with hyphens as it breaks up the search. Does anyone have a fix for this? Is this behaviour intentional from Magento or is it a bug?
