Order placement. creating TWO stock reservations.

Hi there... on order placement Magento 2 is creating TWO reservation entries for the SKU in the 'inventory_reservation' table

 

So instead of my Salable qty going down from 1 to 0 it goes down from 1 to -1

 

Where can I start .. trying to debug this and find out why it is happening?
