Product Attribute Changes Revert After Flushing Cache

I'm trying to make my SKUs searchable. Whenever I edit the product attribute at website.com/admin/catalog/product_attribute/ and set SKU to be searchable and save it, I always get a warning at the top saying one of my Cache Types (Page Cache) is invalidated. Then when I go to my Cache Management page and flush the cache it fixes the invalidated Page Cache BUT my SKU product attribute settings revert back to what they were before, saying no under searchable.
