Purchase success page doesn't work

After a customer make a successful purchase, the success page doesn't load anymore. Instead it displays an error page as seen in the attached image.

If you're reading before the image has been approved the page says, "There has been an error processing your request"... then below it says "Exception printing is disabled by default for security reasons". followed by an error log record number.'

What error log should i look in for this error? Keep in mind the purchase is always successful when this occurs.

@jay_hall  Connect to the sever either via SSH or FTP. Under the folder where you have your site/Magento running go to var/report folder. You can find the file with error log number. Have a look in it to find more details of the issue.
