When I install Porto theme with magento 2.2.2 getting the error settings.$elementf.fotorama is not a function in gallery.js 297 How Can I resolve it

You need to patch Porto's gallery.phtml such that it does not use fotorama anymore. You can copy code from Magento 2.3.2 or higher and mimic how it displays the main product image.

In 2.3.2+ the gallery by default no longer uses fotorama and image loading is much faster.

Or instead of manually messing with the code; just upgrade Magento and use newer Porto theme version.
