can't access magento 2 admin after installing letsencrypt SSL

Magento 2.2.3, Php 7, Ubuntu 16.04 x64

Hi, I installed let's encrypt SSL following this guide https://www.vultr.com/docs/setup-lets-encrypt-with-apache-on-ubuntu-16-04
my website frondend is working fine but when I try to access backend it shows following error

This page isn’t working
leathermake.com redirected you too many times.
Try clearing your cookies.
ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

Now it just shows 404 not found, I tried clearing cookies but it still doesn't work.

okay - could you please check .htaccess file is there in root directory of magento or not ?

if not create .htaccess in root directory and place below code in it.

.htaccess file

If still not solved , then open bootstrap.php file from your magento2root directory/app/bootstrap.php

uncomment the line ini_set('display_errors', 1); - and check admin panel , what error it shows ? please post here so it helps us to troubleshoot the issue.

Re: can't access magento 2 admin after installing letsencrypt SSL

I have the same issue, I have the .htaccess file

Backend still doesn't work without displaying errors even after changing the bootstrap.php file
