magento 2.3.3CE, problem with category thumbnails

I have a problem with magento 2.3.3CE... it's not possible to save a thumbnail image. It's copied to tmp folder.... and moved to the final category images folder, but it's not displayed in backend. Does anyone knows this problem?

unforunably this isn't the solution for my problem, that was the that the main category image disappeared when saving again.... i had this problem to and solved it with an "fixing extension", but that doesn't solve the problem with the thumbnail image.
