Magento 2 upgrade problems

I've been trying to upgrade magento 2 to v2.0.2 and have so far been unsuccessful.  I've decided a try another approach. I was thinking about installing a fresh copy of v2.0.2 and then after it's up and running replacing my v2 install directory with the newly installed v2.0.2 files then changing the database info under app/etc/env.php to point to my v2 database. Is there anything else I need to change to get this to work?

A good approach, it should work. Do no forget about:

1) removing the cache

2) bin/magento setup:upgrade
