Hello everyone
I’m planning to migrate my current website Auramur, which is currently built with WordPress, to Magento.
My goal is to keep the same overall structure and appearance (menu, pages, categories, content organization, blog, etc.) to ensure a smooth transition for my visitors.
Is it possible to:
Recreate the current site structure (pages, categories, subcategories, blog, etc.) in Magento?
Easily migrate the blog content from WordPress?
Manage URL redirects to avoid losing SEO rankings?
Do you have any recommendations for tools, extensions, or best practices to make this migration easier?
Thanks in advance for your advice and feedback
Hi @mounirmejrf2a0 ,
Yes, you can migrate from WordPress to Magento and still keep your content.
1. Export posts and pages from WordPress using the export tool or plugin.
2. Import them into Magento using a blog extension such as Mage-fan Blog.
3. Recreate static pages like About and Contact in Magento CMS.
4. Move media files and update image links.
5. Add 301 redirects to keep your SEO and URLs intact.
6. Use a Magento theme because WordPress themes do not work in Magento.
With proper redirects and testing, you can smoothly keep your content and SEO.
