my cost and experience build a multi-vendor marketplace--in progress
I post my cost and experience build a multi-vendor marketplace.
I hope this can help someone else.
The extensions I bought:
1# multi-vendor marketplace--315(349 with 10% discount)
developed by webkul
Reason:
a, They build this extension about 7 years ago.
b, They also built many other add-ons for this extension.
c, You can find more addons on their own store.
Totally,
I can tell, webkul is a big company.
They can earn enough money;
And they won't stop the business.
To me, I can get updating and maintaining service for many years.
Result: My experience proved it's a good decision.
2# Multi Vendor Wallet for Magento 2--180(199 with 10% discount)
I bought this through webkul's store.
3# seller groups addon --180(199 with 10% discount)
I bought this through webkul's store.
4# Delivery time slot addon--90(99 with 10% discount)
Bought from webkul
5# FAQ and Product Questions--199
Bought this on the magento official marketplace.
Developed by amasty
It is compatible with my website.
6# buyer seller communication addon--129(to buy soon)
will bought from webkul
TBA
Currently, my problem:
regarding the multi-vendor marketplace and the wallet system.
I set the wallet system as a payment method;
Setting vendor's orders need approval by admin;
Issue 1:
The seller already receives the order amount of wallet even the order is unapproved.
I hope webkul can fix this logical issue.
status: not solved
Issue 2:
The system can't create product URL key automatically if there already have a product with the same name.
The error says: URL key for specified store already exists.
status: not solved
Issue 3:
This issue is universal for magento 2.4.2 or lower version.
The system can't create product URL key automatically if the product uses a Japanese or Chinese name.
Status: not solved
Issue 4:
The vendor can't edit the product, If the product is in the shopping cart, and the customer is ready to place an order.
Status: not solved

web hosting
My experience about web hosting for magento.
If your magento store is under construction. It might take several months to complete the store.
If you are not a developer, don't have enough knowledge about magento.
If you don't want to spend too much before your store start to business.
I suggest aspirationhosting.com
Reason:
Even you bought a basic plan for 20 dollars a month:
They can help you install extensions and themes for free.
Their support team is very good.
I tried several web hosting suppliers including godaddy, nexcess, etc.
currently, I am using the 20 dollars plan.

Re: my cost and experience build a multi-vendor marketplace--in progress
Why I choose magento to build a multi-vendor marketplace?
reason:
I searched on youtube, and I got some information:
- Magento is the most complicated;
- Magento is very safe;
- magento powered by adobe;
- Magento started about 10 years ago.
- The extensions on the marketplace are very expensive.
- I found the multi-vendor marketplace extension developed by webkul, and I found many addons for the marketplace.
The most cost for me is:
I choose an open-source platform;
I quit the platform and change to another one after several years.
