Building on recent product quality updates, we are pleased to announce that several exciting performance enhancements are now available in Enterprise Edition and Community Edition 2.1.6. The new release includes:
- Quicker category page performance: Loading configurable products is up to 5x faster, stock validations are 20% faster, and price calculations are 3-5% faster.
- Optimized image resizing: Reductions in the number of images requested improve image resizing performance by 30%. Effective caching of image metadata accelerates page loading by up to 50%.
- Improved layered navigation performance: Caching attribute options improves performance by 3%.
Detailed release notes are posted online and the new software is available in My Account, on the Community Edition Download Page, and via Composer. As a best practice, be sure to install and test these releases in a development environment before releasing into production to avoid any disruptions.
