Off topic but relates to magento 2 on Github.
There is a issue that began its life back in Dec 2015. https://github.com/magento/magento2/issues/2666
How does an issue, raised over a year ago get escalated to a point that perhaps a developer in magento will review it. I understand there are a lot of opened issues and some may take precedence over others, but not having anyone review this issue to date isn't ideal.
