Migrating from Magento 2 Open Source to Magento 2 Commerce (Enterprise):
Is this advisable?
And what is the best method to do the migration?

Are there any major issues we should be aware of?

ya it is possible to achieve it and no too much issue

go to comoser.json, you need to update composer.json for that, then do composer update.

Magento 2 EE adding some module and it will not affect on existing site.
