Hi,
I have seen lot of links in the internet linking to
magentocoomeerce.com/boards
and
magentocommecre.com/wiki
where they have gone? i dont find therm? Do you have any plan to to redirect them to abetter place than home page?
Thanks
Raja
Hi @rajavignesh, the old forums and wiki are no longer available online.
This is the replacement for magentocoomeerce.com/boards and http://magento.com/help/documentation is the replacement for magentocommecre.com/wiki.
If you need to dig back for a specific link, you're of course welcome to use the Wayback Machine but much of the old data is outdated at this point so use with your own judgment.
It seems that even https://wiki.magento.com/display/m1wiki/ now requires a login. Do you know why this is?
Hi @barobba, we discontinued the wiki quite some time ago.
Yes, but it was accessible at least a few weeks ago. I used it to get some pointers on what files to check, though I don't necessarily follow all the implementation steps in the Wiki.
So, I guess a big question mark for me is that I am developing in version 1.9.x, and I really just want to see the 1.9.x documentation, and how much is the Magento 2.x documentation going to point me in the right direction? Or be a waste of time if it's based on newer (but not helpful for me) information?
Hi @barobba, the 2.0 user guide will not help you, but have you checked http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/m1x/?
I have. It has some starter info. I read all the tutorials on there.
I am more interested in the details of the extension development for 1.9.
To do that, I need a bit more detailed information on Magento under the hood. It seems like the wiki had more of that type of information.
Ah, okay. Have you seen https://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/create_your_extension/?
I am Missing that platform its no more available.
Maybe I used the wrong wording.
My plan is to write some code that can be used internally, to add functionality, not to place an extension on the store.
So, to do that, some references or documentation on coding for Magento 1.9.x would be helpful for a legacy site.
