pre select the cash on delivery payment method in one page checkout.

Can anyone tell me how to pre select the cash on delivery payment method in one page checkout. So if the customer comes in they see the cash on delivery method chooses already and if they like they can change it to whatever method they like. Please help i am new to magento .

You will have to modify the checkout (Or look at a One Page Checkout Extension like FireCheckout) and modify it so a default payment is checked
