New user with some easy questions

Hi, I'm new here and i have some questions about Magento.

I'm working on a project and I decided to look at the potential of Magento because it seems to be a very solid and strong platform. My project is not really based on commerce so my question is, how adaptable is Magento to other types of projects? Does someone know any example of a Magento project made for different purposes?

Welcome to the community forums.

I guess the best way to start is to ask and try to help into the forums. (So... you are on the right path)
Normally I could say that you can find a lot of information on StackExchange and also that you can start diving into the http://devdocs.magento.com/

But your question is a little bit different.

I guess the first answer could be another question: which kind of project?

Magento is a powerfull and well known ecommerce platform and is ultra-flexible. The plasticity of the platform is huge but is a better idea to use the right tool for the right job.

Can you share a liitle bit more about your project?
