Upgrading Magento Who to Use

Re: Upgrading Magento Who to Use

Upgrading Magento can be a bit overwhelming, especially with custom themes and extensions in the mix. It’s definitely worth partnering with someone who has proven Magento upgrade experience to avoid downtime and data issues. We’ve seen a similar need for expert help in real estate when setting up Company Let For London having the right guidance makes all the difference. Anyone have recommendations based on firsthand experience?

Hello,

We are looking to upgrade our two Magento 2 sites (2.4.2 and 2.4.1 currently). How difficult is this to do?

We do not currently have any web developers or in-house IT specialists. Has anybody done updates recently? Did you do them yourself or is it better to have an external web developing company to do it?

Does anybody have any recommendations of who to use and what should we expect to pay?

Apologies for all the questions, I am new to this and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from all the technical talk, even something small like browsing or using emojis can lighten the mood. I’ve recently been exploring TikTok emojis at tiktokemojiz.com, and it’s surprising how much expression and creativity they can add, even in casual online chats.

Thanks so much for the detailed breakdown. I’m in a similar position (running two Magento 2 sites on 2.4.1/2.4.2) and have no in-house dev resource, your warning about PHP 8.x upgrade and compatibility issues really hit home. You’re right: doing this without someone who knows what they’re doing is a big risk.

I’m planning to bring in an external dev/agency for this migration. If anyone here has a recommendation for a reliable team, I’d greatly appreciate it. Also, curious what ballpark budget others have seen for a clean migration with minimal customisations.

Thanks again for sharing.

Re: Upgrading Magento Who to Use

Upgrading Magento 2.4.1/2.4.2 to a newer version can be quite technical because it involves updating extensions, themes, server requirements, and running proper testing, so doing it without a developer is risky. Since you don’t have in-house IT staff, hiring an external Magento specialist is the safest and easiest option. Most agencies or freelance experts charge anywhere from $500 to $3000, depending on how customized your site is, and they handle the full upgrade smoothly.

Re: Upgrading Magento Who to Use

It was a great read… but I’m really sad this forum is closing soon. I learned so much here over the years, and so many people helped me out, even in my own gaming projects when I didn’t know where to start. This community pushed me to grow, try new ideas, and keep improving. I mostly work around mobile gaming now, and offline multiplayer stuff like Stickman Party has become a big part of what I do. If anyone’s into that game too, I usually use this site for updates: https://stickmanpartymodapk.app/ Gonna miss this place for real.
