Move extensions from 1.7 to 1.9

I have a magento site 1.7. I installed the 1.9 version and i connected new installation with the database from 1.7.

Now what should I do to move all extansions and check if they work?

I wanted to do this one by one (not alla together) to check their compatibility with new version.

I did a test with a extansion and it worked. But that extansion had only files on app/code/community (not in another folder)

How do I know for some extension the folders and files of this extension and to move that files in new installation?

You will need to move and test each extension in your new instance of 1.9
