What is the best Search extension?
What is the best Search extension for Magento 2? Paid or free doesn't matter.
Should it use Elasticsearch or Sphinx?

You can check this amasty plugin.
https://amasty.com/advanced-search-for-magento-2.html
And Magento recommends to use Elasticsearch. In latest upcoming Magento 2.4 version, Magento will deprecate Mysql search too.

Is it better than this Mirasvit? Why? https://mirasvit.com/magento-2-extensions/elastic-search-ultimate.html

This seems to be a SPAM post that has nothing to do with the question.

Nope, not at all. Maybe you'll clarify your initial request in more detail?

Elasticsearch might be a solid and useful tool, but it seems to me that Magento use it only in its simplest way. Is it so or am i wrong? Without an exstension the search in the search box seems to be slow. If you type some characters, each request for the suggestions takes about a second. I find that disappointing. The introduction of Elasticsearch (which requires a much more sophisticated server setup) does not make the search much better than before. I don't see the advantages of ES. Might be the old search has had its problems if one has many products.
What was the background for switching to Elasticsearch when there are no obvious advantages?
