I just installed magneto ver 1.9.1.0 and no categories or products being displayed. I don't know why this is.

Are you running a multi-site setup? Check the "Websites" tab on each product, and check that they are enabled/visible on the store view.
Also, are you sure each product or it's child products have stock assigned to them?
Did you rebuild all indexes after importing your products? Are your products properly enabled? Check
Status > Enabled, Visibility: Catalog/Search, Inventory > In Stock
I added category, products. I than went to rebuild indexes they are all green and home page nothing
