I installed Magento using the Quick Install through CPanel.

All the database settings were generated by default. How do I check the config file for the database details (name and password)..

Is there any other  way of installing Magento through installer file.

The database settings are stored in

app/etc/local.xml

Magento has its own built-in installer so installing it outside of cPanel is as simple as uploading the files and visiting the frontend and following the instructions.
