404 Error after PATCH_SUPEE-5994_CE_

 Hello ,

 After patching my Magento 1.8.1 with the Supee patch , where my magento page and admin is now showing :

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache Server at *********.co.uk Port 80


Deleted my cache , and im now scratching my head , im really not sure what to try ? I would be very grateful

Just an update

I upgraded from 1.8 to 1.91 reset permissions and jobs a frekin good one.

This is the reason i dont upgrade , every time i update or install a patch **bleep** always breaks.

Just to note that patching or upgrading Magento may reset the file permissions. 

Some servers do not like the default file permissions by Magento so you will need to reset them after you patch or upgrade.
