Categoy page with Configureable Product taking 5 minutes to load - CE 1.9.2.3

I created configurable products and the product page loads fine but when you assign them to a category and try to load the category page it takes up to 5 minutes to load.

Is there a way to fix this?

Here is an example of a slow loading category page and there are only 2 products on this page: https://new.eco-me.com/household/bathroom.html

Care to explain why your page is 7.3MB? There's a huge 2.9MB image file, is it really needed?
