Special Price - how to display regular price without VAT (tax)?

I have a few products that I want to offer at a discount.

I want to use the 'special price' function, but when I do, the regular price is displayed including VAT (tax). I display all of my prices ex VAT (tax).

How do I do this please?

Can you check your tax configuration?

You'll find this option on System -> Configuration -> Sales -> Tax

I have tried both including and excluding tax.

I currently have my products displaying RRP (strikethrough), Our Price (ex Tax) and Inc.Tax (total including tax), so i need to use including and excluding tax.
But when I do, my product page displays 'Regular Price' (inc tax) and 'Special Price' (ex tax). I need the 'Regular Price' to display ex tax, the same as my 'Special Price'.

This is our current pricing layout.

the RRP is the manufacturers Suggested Price.

Our Price is the product price ex VAT (tax)

Inc VAT (tax) included tax.

When I set up a special offer, I get the below.

As you can see, the Regular Price includes the VAT (tax) and I need it to exclude the VAT (tax)
