Make search an exact match only, or search only specific attribute

Using v 1.92, I would like my default magento search be an exact match only, or failing that, have it search only a specific attribute, is this possible?

Magento internal search flat out sucks. Magento Connect provides tons of extensions that try to fix it -- you just need to find one that provides the functionality you require.
