Can some body tell me, please. How to set up "Buy X Get Y Free", I can’t get it. let's say I have a Category in which there are 4 Articles (4 different products of wine). I want to configure CART so that if there are 3 Wines in the Basket, one is free. That is, if a customer buys 2 Bottles (of the same variety or different types) of wine from this category, then the third bottle is free.
I somehow set up the rule but I get a tritium bottle for free if there is one Variety of Wines> = 3 in the basket, but if I have 2 different Wines from this category, say 2x Wine_Caberne and 1x Wine_Carmenier then the discount does not apply.
More details in the examples:
2x Wine_Caberne - 10 $
1x Wine_Carmenier - 10 $
Subtotal: $ 30
Amount to pay: 30 $
but should be:
2x Wine_Caberne - 10 $
1x Wine_Carmenier - 10 $
Subtotal: $ 30
discount: $ 10 (one bottle)
Amount to pay: $ 20
Now I have a bit of:
3x Wine_Caberne - 10 $ 1x
Wine_Carmenier - 10 $
Subtotal: $ 30
discount: $ 10 (one bottle)
Amount to pay: $ 20
Hi @roma250983,
Did you checked the user guide? https://docs.magento.com/m2/ce/user_guide/marketing/price-rules-cart-buy-x-get-y-free.html
From my experience, the Buy X Get Y Rules are not as functional as you'd think. They're typically best for Buy 10 (ie. X) of SKU=ABC123, and Get 1 (ie. Y) for free. It's not as helpful for offers that go across categories. For this particular scenario, I'd look at an extension, like: https://marketplace.magento.com/amasty-module-special-promotions-pro.html
Best of luck!
