Help making a product listing

I chose configurable product but I feel like this isn't working out.

I have 3 attribute categories which when processed end up creating about 100 simple products.

Saving the product after applying images for each color takes about 30 minutes!!!

Is there a better product type for size, color, etc?

When I duplicated the configurable product and then changed the configurations, the duplicate is somehow linked to my original product so now all the prices and images on the original now reflect changes to the duplicate.

I'm so lost right now.

Try following import guide for configurable products for one product first

Configurable product is good product type for this type of products but if its taking time you can try import method.
