Constant 504 errors and generally slow

Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to Magento and recently my brother purchased a theme from envato for his business.

But every now and then when I'm trying to do a cache refresh or trying to get a backup the whole things becomes very slow and then throws me out with a 504 error and refuses to work no matter how many times I refresh for the next few minutes and then its back to normal !

I'm a software engineer graduate but we never studied Magento. So kindly give me some tips to diagnose this issue.

Here is my php.ini file which looks like its autogenerated, in case you guys think it needs to be tweaked:

; cPanel-generated php ini directives, do not edit
; Manual editing of this file may result in unexpected behavior.
; To make changes to this file, use the cPanel MultiPHP INI Editor (Home >> Software >> MultiPHP INI Editor)
; For more information, read our documentation (https://go.cpanel.net/EA4ModifyINI)

Hello @sahandsigm749e

As I can see max_ex_time  is very less in your configuration.

What hosting or server environment are you using to host your Magento 2 store?

As for backups, you may want to consider taking backup externally (for example, just run mysqldump in SSH) instead of doing it within Magento.
