how to display only images from a particular category?

so we have a widget that is 'catalog product list' which shows all products, but i have several categories, and I have created a page for each category and i want to use a widget that will show ONLY those product from that category- is this possible and how?

Hello @luke_mersh 

Do you mean you have created a static block and want to display it on a category page?

Each category page has one option under the design section to show products, static blocks or both. You can use them. If your requirements are different then please excuse me.

Thank you for that post.

As I am a newbie, I am not good with php coding.

I thought there would be a built in widget that was already created that could help me.

So far I have created independent pages for each subcategory.

but what I want to achieve is to display the corresponding subcategory product on each page.

I know that you guys have shared some info with me, but I am not working locally.

I am trying to create these widgets or blocks whatever you want to call them from within admin panel.

I see the php code and the list.phtml, but as I am a newbie I dont know where or how to create and place these files.

I did try, but without success so far, probably because I am not doing it correctly.

I would appreciate lots of help for this issue.
