How to add custom dropdown in Search Autocomplete within header ?

I want to add custom dropdown with select box within the Search box of magento 2 header. How can i do this ?

Hello,

I tried with this one. I am getting the dropdown but now value from the dropdown is not passing to the collection filter. As in the link they have i think did not pass the value to the CollectionFilter.
