Cron Job Error

We are experiencing an error when we run the command:

php bin/magento cron:run

we get the following error:

[Exception]
  Warning: DOMDocument::loadXML(): Empty string supplied as input in /chroot/
  home/USER/WEBSITE/html/vendor/magento/framework/Config/Dom
  .php on line 386

We can't seem to figure out the root of this error.

Try to remove spacing at start of the xml file. (if you added any new xml file please check it)
