Magento 2.3.4 issue with http redirected via https to https+SID

Hello All,

I have an issue with magento 2.3.4 and the 301 redirect that adds a SID to the url. This happens to the homepage as wel as product pages and CMS pages. In magento 2.3.4 the setting under general, web to disable SID is no longer there and as i understood this disabled by default. I run a single store. Which database is exported from a magento 1.9 installation.

example (1) as below seems fine. The other examples all end in a url with SID added.

All pages with SID in the url are blocked by robots.txt. I still have a lot of backlinks directing to the http pages which now are redirected twice via a 301 redirect ending in a page which is blocked by the robots.txt effectively losing any value. Ideal would be that the http request should end up with the https version of the site without the SID.

What is the solution to this issue?
